FUNCTIONSResponsible for the project management, scope consultation, and execution of technical communicationrequirements for kitchen and bath products. Media of deliverables to include publications, labels andpackaging, and animations.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES1. Exhibits strong project leadership in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and teamimplementation of TechComm deliverables; communicates and negotiates to appropriatelyapportion time and other resources.2. Serves as the primary TechComm representative to product development teams for technicalcontent and literature requirements for assigned projects.3. Understands regional and business requirements and determines project scope of TechnicalCommunication deliverables; owns the deliverable timing and execution.4. Has initial development and quality responsibility for technical product literature as assigned –covering product information, installation, use, and/or servicing.5. Represents department in matters of technical content and usability of publications.Recommends and supports maintenance of technical communication requirements, standards,and processes for all publication products.6. Contributes to the advancement of Technical Communication discipline/processes and strategicproject execution.7. Solicits from and contributes to profession through external activities.8. Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSRequires a Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Communications, or other technical discipline alongwith strong technical writing background.At least 4 years of technical writing experience for productand/or software is required.At least two years experience in plumbing product installation, design, or documentation preferred, but will substitute similar experience in a related technical/manufacturing field.Mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and ability to read drawings is required.Requires computer aptitude and demonstrated writing.Requires demonstrated visualization skills – the ability to translate between two- and three-dimensional data views.Illustration experience a plus.Must be self-motivated.Requires proven interpersonal and team leadership skills.Must demonstrate proficiency at managing complex projects, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.Typing skills are essential for productivity.Experience authoring within a tagged language (XML/DITA) is REQUIRED.Experience with XML and DITA authoring tools is REQUIRED.Authoring for reuse is REQUIRED.Experience with SAP is PREFERRED.Requires familiarity with InDesign. Illustration experience with CAD or Pro/E, Creo, Adobe Illustrator, orArbortext IsoDraw a plus. Proficiency with database use and excel spreadsheets required.Candidate will use Astoria CMS, Oxygen, InDesign, Windchill, MS Project Online, MS Teams and Officedaily. Preference to candidates with this software experience.
