In order to meet the growing needs of our clients and our continued growth, our Firm is looking for a high-quality Tax Supervisor. The ideal candidates will be individuals highly focused on their careers with ambitions to grow and make a difference in the firm they join for years to come.
THE SKILL SET5-6 years of experience in public accounting with a specialization in tax for a minimum of 5 yearsUnderstanding of relevant tax legislation as well as corporate, personal, and partnership tax compliance and planning.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and detail orientation. Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Leads and inspires followership.Team player, client-focused, and high standard of excellence.Displays strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skillsProficiency in QuickBooks and ExcelBachelor's degree in accounting required. Working to attain a Master's degree.Working to attain CPA.A PLUS IF YOU HAVEDemonstrable success in leading teams in a public accounting setting. Partner-track ambitions.Master's Degree in Taxation.CPA license.Proficiency with ProSystems FX, and/or RIA Checkpoint.WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LLComplete new hire orientation and onboarding.Complete introductory training.Begin growing your internal network by meeting with other Supervisors, Managers, and Directors.Start building relationships with the clients in your book of business.Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns.WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LLRespond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.Researching tax issues and documenting this research in tax memos or client letters.Review tax returns done by staff and makes recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibilities in the review process.WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LLSupervise, train, and mentor associates on client engagements.Start tax planning and calculation of estimated tax payments.Manage client engagements from start to finish which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects, managing the budget, meeting deadlines and client expectationsAT GEMRT YOU WILL ENJOYOur annual firm cruise!Competitive salary + bonus programNew business commissionGenerous referral bonus15 days PTO plus 10 additional firm holidays (including the last week of the year)Health insurance covered by GEMRTDental and Vision insurance are availableShort and Long Term DisabilityGap insurance and Aflac401(k) with matching contributions from GEMRTLife insurance covered by GEMRTCPE covered by GEMRTIs this role not an exact fit?
