Sr. Tooling Engineer (Molding) is involved in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of tools and fixtures for manufacturing processes. Work closely with production, NPI engineer & product design teams to ensure that the tooling is efficient, cost-effective, and meets quality standards.
Your Team Tool maker / tooling techniciansWhat You Will Do Carry out the responsibilities of the position, complying with the quality policy, environment, safety, procedures, standards, policies, work instructions, etc.Support NPI, New tools development DFM/ MFA analysis, contact directly tooling suppliers in Asia.Evaluate and interpret specifications and blueprints to understand project requirements.Design, develop tools and fixtures using CAD software.Recommend materials for tool production based on durability, cost, and function.Analyze and improve upon current tooling methods to increase efficiency and reduce cost.Work closely with production and design teams to ensure tools are functional and yield high-quality products.Coordinate with tool manufacturers and vendors for tool procurement.Perform regular maintenance and repair on tools to ensure longevity and functionality.Document tooling processes, modifications and specifications for future reference.Adhere to safety regulations and standards while designing and maintaining tools.Train staff on correct use of tooling equipment and safety proceduresWhat You Need Electromechanical or mechanical engineering preferably5 years in a similar position in the plastics and assembly industryPlastic injection technical background (proven with experience)Injection molds design background (proven with experience)Solid works/mold design knowledge (proven with experience or certification)What is Nice to Have Process control by statistical methods.Mass manufacturing techniquesSAP ERP knowledgeJust in time systems and materials HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
