And now, we are determined to realize our boldest opportunities to transform global healthcare for years to come.**Your role at Baxter**You will lead and direct development and implementation of cost effective and efficient global Information Technology initiatives and strategies consistent with Regional Business Operations priorities and objectives and insure, align and deliver IT infrastructure and projects, to deliver successful regional business results. A technically skilled database administrator will be capable of holding positions of great responsibility. In this role, you will be the first respondent to database problems that arise and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting. Primary Database skills are Oracle administration and SQL.To ensure success as a database administrator, you should be an excellent problem-solver and communicator that is fluent in most data manipulation languages. Ultimately, a top-notch database administrator should have extensive knowledge of the databases under their administration and display sound technical skills and administrative aptitude. The role is accountable for managing regional infrastructure projects and operations, including the coordination of Service Desk and Deskside functions, regional Data Center (Singapore) and commercial facilities (in multiple countries).**Your team**We develop quality products with the patient in mind, so our marketing efforts are also patient-centric. That means you can be proud of our work and the value we provide to people every day.As a large, multinational organization, you have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through collaboration with a variety of individuals, exposure to different facets of our portfolio, and a supportive leadership team that encourages ongoing development.**What you'll be doing**- Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.- Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.- Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.- Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.- Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.- Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.- Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.- Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.**What you'll bring**- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.- Advanced certification as an MCDBA or MCSD for.NET is advantageous.- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a database administrator.- Proficiency in data manipulation languages, including MS SQL, Oracle Database, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL.- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Highly organized and responsible.- Capable of working under pressure.- Up-to-date with trends and developments in database administration.- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree required in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field of study.
