RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate effective communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and recommendations.Craft client code that is not just efficient, but also performant, testable, scalable, secure, and of the highest quality.Actively participate in accurate planning and estimation efforts, utilizing project methods and tools.Proficiently gather requirements and organize/present developed features for clients.Execute complex activities within the current methodology and quality standards, showcasing success across diverse engagements.Promote client success across the team by collaborating with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points, anticipate potential problems, and iterate on solutions that drive client success.Engage in agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and other governance activities.Actively participate in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, and supporting the growth of technical capabilities.Independently drive project delivery within defined architecture, demonstrating autonomy and accountability in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.REQUIREMENTSGreat interpersonal skills - must be a team player.5+ years Java programming experience, including using JDK 11 and higher.5+ years developing web based applications leveraging cloud services.Recent Hands-on experience, at least 2 years, with REST.Advanced knowledge of Spring Framework (DI), Spring REST controllers and Spring Security.Experience leveraging JDBC connectivity and experience with database abstraction layers such as jOOQ, Hibernate, or JPAExperience working in an Agile development model.Version Control (Git). Highlight: Java.Spring boot.Kafka.gRPC (Nice to have).Time-series database concepts, or has experience with a TSDB (e.g. TimescaleDB, InfluxDB).Being able to demonstrate coding experience (code samples /github repository / Stack Overflow participations) is highly recommended. Other Nice To Have: Java Concurrency concepts strong understanding.Modern IDE such as IntelliJ.Java Web Server and Servlets containers such as Jetty.RESTful APIs Design that include Swagger documentation and Open API Specifications.Advanced working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, or H2) and ability to write and optimize SQL queries.Various network, web and application based protocols Additional Experience: Translate business requirements into technical requirements.Actively participate in agile meetings assisting in the grooming, scoping and sizing of user stories.Design, develop, and provide ongoing maintenance of Java application and associated API's.Participate in defect analysis and recommend coding changes to correct issues.Debug and step through code and identify issues and problems.Craft unit and integration tests.Develop code according to internal published coding standards.Write easily understandable, testable, scalable and efficient code.Provide testing support to other development team members.Maintain and update code documentation.Contribute to maintaining release of code and code management.Provide informative updates and consistent feedback to project team and supervisor regarding status.BENEFITSVacations.
