**About this role**The SAP Consultant participates in product development teams, delivering high quality technological tools, ensuring that the requirements have been fully understood and adding to them the best practices and paradigms of software architecture.**What You'll Do**:- SAP BW/4HANA Architecture: Understand the overall architecture and components of SAP BW/4HANA, including the data warehouse layer, modeling layer, and reporting layer. Familiarize yourself with the key features and benefits of BW/4HANA compared to previous versions of SAP BW.- Data Modeling: Have a good understanding of data modeling concepts in BW/4HANA. This includes knowledge of InfoObjects, InfoProviders (such as InfoCubes, DataStore Objects, and Advanced DataStore Objects), DataSources, transformations, and data flows. Understand how to design efficient and optimized data models in BW/4HANA.- SAP HANA Integration: BW/4HANA is tightly integrated with SAP HANA, so it's essential to have a solid understanding of SAP HANA concepts and capabilities. Familiarize yourself with HANA modeling techniques, such as creating calculation views and using SQLScript. Understand how to leverage the power of HANA for advanced analytics and performance optimization in BW/4HANA.- ETL Processes: Gain knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes in BW/4HANA. Understand how to extract data from various source systems using SAP Data Services or other ETL tools, transform the data using transformations and business rules, and load it into BW/4HANA InfoProviders. Be familiar with data acquisition methods, such as Direct Extractor Connection (DXC) and Operational Data Provisioning (ODP).- Data Integration: Be proficient in integrating data from various source systems into BW/4HANA. Understand how to set up and configure connections to different source systems, such as SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, non-SAP databases, and flat files. Know how to handle delta updates and implement data replication strategies.- Reporting and Analytics: Have knowledge of reporting tools and capabilities in BW/4HANA. Understand how to create and optimize queries using the BW Query Designer or other reporting tools. Be familiar with advanced analytics features, such as BW/4HANA Embedded Analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud integration, and data virtualization.- Performance Optimization: Gain an understanding of performance optimization techniques in BW/4HANA. Know how to monitor and tune system performance, implement partitioning and indexing strategies, optimize data loads and queries, and leverage SAP HANA-specific features for performance improvement.- Data Governance and Security: Have knowledge of data governance and security concepts in BW/4HANA. Understand how to define and enforce data access controls, implement data encryption and anonymization techniques, and ensure data quality and integrity within the data warehouse.- Data Lifecycle Management: Familiarize yourself with data lifecycle management principles in BW/4HANA. Understand how to define retention periods for data, set up data archiving, implement data aging, and manage data tiering to optimize storage and performance.- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshooting BW/4HANA issues and providing support to end users. Be familiar with common error messages, debugging techniques, and system monitoring tools. Stay updated with SAP notes and support packs to ensure a stable and well-performing BW/4HANA environment.**Who you **are**:- 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (5+ years in total).- Intermediate English level is required.**_ Knowledge and Skills: _**- Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.- Has led small team in delivery of a specific deliverable.- Has mastered at least one technical discipline with strong knowledge in at least three major technology areas.- Possesses advanced level of business, technical, or functional knowledge.- Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products.- Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence.Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing.- Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements.- Owns and produces customer documentation.
