Understanding of manufacturing processes for analysis of non-conforming parts to identify root causes and address appropriate corrective actions. Keep communication with customers internal and external customers to track solution of non-conformities and implement effective corrective actions will prevent recurrence in the future.Essential Responsibilities- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.- Ensure the plant's production processes are executed per relevant specifications- Analyze and create 4B for internal customers- Own process compliance: understand applicable Quality Management System documents, perform quality audits to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and processes, and drive CARs and improvement plans to address nonconformances- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.- Lead investigations and analysis of quality problems in second shift, to eliminate problems at their root cause- Prevent occurrence of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.- Provide leadership as the main quality interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Services, and other functions- Perform statistical analysis- Quality issue resolving through problem solving tools (8D, A3, 5WHY).- Prepare plan and maintain certification of ISO 9001, AAR and EAC- Continuously develop product and process knowledge, become a product and process expertQualifications/Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 80% degree credits completed.- Experience in Quality Assurance or similar roles.- Fluent English with oral and written communication skills.- Experience at least 2 years in related areas.Desired Characteristics- Demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving experience- Experience testing and troubleshooting Locomotive electrical and mechanical systems- Strong computer and data analysis skills including intermediate Excel- Ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams- Ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels- Experience with assembly, electrical, test, and welding processes, including ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications- Experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering role- Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tools- Knowledge of ISO/AAR standards, quality procedures, and audit techniqueLI-EO1Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world's toughest challenges.
