Understand precisionmeasurement, quality analysis, product acceptance tests and other qualityprojects and duties commensurate with the goals and objectives of the SFOQuality System. Analyzes and takes corrective actions to improve processes andproduct yield in the SFO plant. Recommends, directs and coordinates productmodifications to improve quality, to meet customer requirements, and to reduceinventory. To support all aspects of KQMS Tier I, II, III and IV achievementgoals and objectives with resources necessary to complete all levels. TheSupervisor is to ensure all areas they manage are implementing and sustainingall initiatives of KQMS safety standards. The individual needs to ensure leadwith the example and support the other members of the quality group.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Support the SPC engineer, understand the process capability studies and internal and external product failure analysis to determine problem resolutions in compliance with KQMS and KOS.
Problem Solving of quality issues at manufacturing processes
Direct and coordinate product modifications to improve quality, meet customer requirements and to reduce inventory. Working specifically with Faucets and Showering NPD Engineers to ensure new product launch schedule is maintained.
Evaluates vendor capabilities to produce within established specifications. (Vendor quality analysis to include clearly defined requirements, vendor surveys, certification and receiving inspection plans.)
Investigates and recommends methods to reduce or eliminate causes for non-conforming material as required by KQMS and KOS. Assists in the determination of gaging and testing frequencies, methods and location in production sequence. Develops new techniques for establishing optimum quality levels and customer satisfaction at economical costs.
Communicates and interacts effectively, both oral and written, with manufacturing personnel, first line supervisors, and all other levels of plant and division management, customers and vendors, as part of a team based organizations. Follow up corrective action.
Provide back up support for the maintenance of SFO's ISO 9000 Certification Program at the SFO plant. Also provides support for auditing of documents, procedures and processes.
Support Quality Module audits, utilizing SAP to enter, release, and set up skip lots on products.
Assist Production Engineering with Operation Certification process for SFO plant.
Support training intern associates in all gaging practices and assist with MSA on all specialty gages.
Skills/Requirements EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
University degree in Engineering or other similar area.
Previous experience as quality related position in metallurgical or automotive industry.
Demonstrated knowledge on PPAP (Control Plan and PFMEA)
Demonstrated knowledge on GD&T and Core tools.
Good technical knowledge of principles relating to mechanics, plus complete working knowledge of the use of common gaging and precision measuring instruments, such as optical comparator, Vernier, micrometer, CMM, surface plate instruments, electronic gaging devices, and related equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, statistical quality control techniques, and problem-solving actions and results.
Ability to prepare complete and effective reports, regarding special investigations and summaries of recorded data.
Proficient in the use of personal computers, common Office, Statistical Process Control, Database software.
A plus will be Power BI and Power app knowledge
English communication skill is required.
