POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this job is to lead the engineering design, contractor management, construction, commissioning and startup of a new chemical manufacturing plant. Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the project, including scope, cost and timeline definitions and management, communications and stakeholders management, procurement plans, quality, resources, construction safety and risk management, and overall project integration, responsible for the EPCM (Engineering,
Procurement, Construction Management) coordination. Reports to the Engineering Director.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Provide strategic technical leadership for the engineering design, contractor management, construction, commissioning, and startup of a new chemical manufacturing plant.Bring best in class design, out of the box thinking, agile technology, best in class and cost-effective solutions, collaborating locally and globally to achieve these objectives (focus on infrastructure design).Develop the engineering team members and drive technical and team's performance.Strategically influence peers and stakeholders to drive the business agenda through technical and business solutions.Lead the capital management process for the project, driving capital efficiency, sweating the assets and execution excellence.Manage the planning and execution of the project scope, cost and timeline, integrating all 9 areas of expertise within project management practices.Be the bridge between Supply Chain and other areas of the business, working with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Suppliers, Contractors, and other functions, representing engineering excellence and understanding of project management.Be the first point of contact/ interaction with ESPs, Construction Management companies and turn-key equipment/ solutions suppliers to manage the overall success of project design and execution.Flawlessly executes the project management leading all engineering aspects of the working programme working with several areas of the business in an integrated, high performance work team.Bring an outside-in and out of the box thinking beyond conventional manufacturing technology to build a plant that is safe, state-of-the-art, agile, cost competitive, highly productive and highly digitized.Design a new operation that is best in class, ready for WEF Lighthouse and LEED certification, net zero carbon and designed for the future.Provide and stimulate creative solutions to utilities and infrastructure problems, with rapid transfer of best practices.Have strong technical expertise in utilities, infrastructure, sustainability and total systems approach in all work efforts.Work to have an accident-free project.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO ASPIRE FOR THIS ROLE? B.S. or B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent education with demonstrated working experience.10+ years' experience in related Engineering or Manufacturing environment. Chemical industry experience strongly preferred.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a people or project management role.Professional engineering skills.Applicable knowledge in Process Safety.Applicable knowledge in Automation & Controls.Project Management Leadership with strong Early Management expertise (EPM/ EEM).Speak English.Advanced use of IT tools.Availability for constant travel.Competencies: Purpose & ServiceAgilityPassion for High PerformanceBusiness AcumenCustomer focusTalent CatalystCommitment and responsibilityStrategic InfluenceSkills: Leadership
