:This Product Development Engineer will work as a valued member of our Residential Packaged Product Engineering Team to sustain existing products, lead Productivity activities, and work closely with different functions to resolve field and quality issues.Responsibilities: Complete quality improvement, sustaining, and cost reduction projects to meet project quality, delivery and cost (QDC) targets.Work and coordinate VAVE projects with our Engineering Technical Centers in Shanghai and BangaloreLead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA's) and Internal Design Reviews (IDR's) for assigned projects.Direct the testing of required engineering samples for evaluation and validation of needed changes.Direct the creation or revision of engineering product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, safety agency approvals).Design for reliability (DFR).Design for manufacturing, assembly, and ergonomics (DFMAE).Complete required product agency compliance and listings as needed (AHRI, UL, etc.).Select and specify component and material requirements as needed.Support manufacturing in resolving design related assembly and manufacturing issues.Qualifications:Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.Project planning and organizational skills.Working knowledge of Safety Agency Standards UL1995 5th edition and UL60335-2-40Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.Experience with PC based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).Experience with mechanical and electrical application equipment design.Good verbal and written communication skills.Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Must have good conflict management skills and demonstrate versatility in personal interaction.Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement projects.Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, basic electrical circuits, and components.Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt/Lean Expert (preferred).Bachelor's Degree in Engineering requiredMinimum of 7 years HVAC experienceDomestic and international travel required (up to 15%).We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits and programs.
