Job Description The engineer will design and engineer mechanical pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems. This position involves a high degree of latitude and creativity to solve problems in a fast paced atmosphere. The engineer will guide drafting on the creation of general arrangement drawings as well as being responsible for technical aspects of instrumentation, controls, product application, installation, and testing. Duties & Responsibilities Performs system design including application analysis, overseeing development of drawings, specification review and selection of instrumentation including pressure, level and temperature switches and transmitters.Directs preparation of product layout and detailed drawings or schematics.Directly or indirectly involved in the creation of calculations, GA drawings, detail drawings, BOM, datasheets, and any special manufacturing details as required.Interacts with internal departments such as Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to clarify or resolve problems.Collaborate actively at the fulfilment of the administration systems (management) of security and health (OHAS18001) and the administration systems (management) of the environment (ISO14001) and the administration systems (management) of the quality (ISO 9001).Maintain order and cleanliness of the plant in general and in particular of the work place, following the guidelines the 6's.Do all the activities according to the stablished in the guidelines of qualityFulfil and guarantee the compliance of the health, security and environment politics.Comply with norms, regulations and y etic code of the Company.Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon departmental needs. Target and results drivenExperienceMinimum 5 to 8 years of experiencein Mechanical seal support systems / Oil & Gas Filter Engineering/Seal Gas /Fuel gas conditioning systems or Gas processing plant /equipment's.Application knowledge in the field of API plans for pump seal system or Lube oilConsoles or OilLubricating Systems orPre-jacking systems, HP-LP systems or Filtration units etc, for applications in Oil &; Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical,Power, Steel, Chemical industriesStrong knowledge in P&ID and Instrumentation & Control.Ability to select and sizing of Level, Flow, Pressure and Temperature instrumentation. Working knowledge in DCS & PLC will be given preference.Hands on experience in PFD, P&ID and Instrument datasheets to meet various global standards, safety and local regulations.Knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentationselection and requirements for Hazardous Area Classification and Mechanical Protection are preferable Additional Information Under no circumstances shall Staff be charged any fee or other costsin relation to their recruitment to work at Smiths, whether directly or indirectly.
