Entry Level Primary Substation Engineer (Drafter) About the Role Location Mexico Queretaro Santiago de Queretaro Remote vs. Office Hybrid (Remote/Office) Company Siemens Energy, S. de de Organization EVP Global Functions Business Unit Competence Hub Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Early Professional A Snapshot of Your DayBeing part of Siemens Energy as an Entry Level Primary Substation Engineer / Drafter, you would work all the time with International projects, mainly located in North America, you would be involved in the design of high voltage substations / switchyards and HVDC and SVC.Your daily work would be performing drafting for Grounding systems, Lightning and illumination systems, One-line diagrams and working with general layouts, you would be using everyday engineering software like: Auto-Cad, Microstation and Revit. You would be able to develop your experience and knowledge in standards like ANSI and IEC.How You'll Make an ImpactDevelop/draft main one line and station auxiliary one-line diagrams.Develop/draft substation/switchyard general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings.Develop/draft Grounding drawings.Support performing cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.Perform trench and conduit design.Support camera and Gas density Monitor designs.Develop/draft conceptual designs for pricing purposes.Support authoring of equipment specifications and detail bill of materials.Develop/Draft 3D substation design for Proposals.Support review manufacturer's documentation.Draft conceptual Layouts for HVDC and FACTS.Support Marketing and Project teams in the execution of a project and in customer meetings.Identify, notify, and provide solutions on potential problems that may adversely impact safety, reliability, cost and schedule on a project.Perform special assignments and provide technical advice in the area of expertise.Knowledge on ANSI standards is preferable. IEC standards knowledge is a plusResponsibility to comply and / or make sure the protocols, policies, and guidelines of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).What You BringBachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, power system emphasis is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required. However, students of the last two semesters are encouraged to apply, candidates must be able to get their degree during the first year.Proficient English LanguageKnowledge on NOM is acceptable, NEC standards knowledge is a plus.Experience with equipment typically used in substation.Proficient with Auto-CAD, Micro-Station and Revit are a plusGood communication skills, teamwork and self-driven
