We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Body Interior Design & Release Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of interior components and systems for automotive body interiors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of body interior systems, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality component delivery.

Responsabilities Lead development of Body Interior components as accessory offerings on vehicle programs. Will need to define requirements, product design, tooling, testing and launching of components. Work with interfacing commodity engineers, developing viable designs that meet functional requirements, ensuring compatibility. Work to develop CAD to specific requirements/specifications and validating with CAE, as applicable, using Ford SDS, Design Rules, Regulatory items, and Attributes (package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, craftsmanship, etc.). Manage multiple projects, working with program engineers for refining functional characteristics of the components, system, and/or features in the vehicle. Lead team meetings (suppliers, designers, engineers, manufacturing, etc.) and work in a collaborative environment; establishing and delivering to plan. Balance attributes and tradeoffs (cost, weight, timing, etc.). Present to team stakeholder's, including PD Customization., Program Teams, Marketing, Vehicle Personalization, Design Studio, and Manufacturing teams. Support and complete deliverables of Engineering Analyst. Monitor progress, communicate and publish efficiency metrics. Assist Engineering with Vehicle Program BOM development, management and delivery; Author the BOM on behalf of the engineer. Support from start to P-Release provide Engineering Support & Change Management for milestone deliverables/tasks in AVBOM/ FEDE BoM; Assist Engineering with Sourcing, Purchasing & Financial Process/Administrative support including document & package creation from to as part of the Program Cost Process Deliverables. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent 2 Years experience desired in design and release of functional components and systems integration. Preferably on Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering components related. Familiarity with engineering and design of automotive components and systems. Working knowledge of TCE / CATIA, WERS, and Vis Mockup. Knowledge of engineering disciplines; Six Sigma, DFMEA, DVP, Certification Testing, GD&T, DFM, Variation Analysis.
