**JOB POSITION PURPOSE**Coordinates & Executes sustaining engineering design projects based on specialized knowledge.Lead small-medium sustaining engineering projects at the plant through execution/implementation of project plans.Provide technical support to assigned business franchise/product lines.Act as on-site team member/liaison between Corporate R&D and the plant, including support trials/builds at the facilityServe as the "voice of design" for plant-led projects (cost savings, process improvements, capital engineering, molding and extrusion team, other facilities and vendors as needed)Primary sustaining engineer for specification and manufacturing documentation (specifications, WI, inspections, production related QNC/CAPA)**JOB POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**- Coordinates & Excecutes sustaining engineering design projects based on specialized knowledge- Designs, proposes, and/or implements design changes, that require knowledge of design and manufacturing requirements for Avanos medical devices.- Lead or participate in cross functional project teams for continuous improvement of new product and/or processes introduction, optimization, or transferal, according to the customer expectations.- Develops, modifies, and maintains design documentation, including but not limited to specifications (material, component, assembly, finished good, tooling, fixtures, etc.) of the R&D function.- Provide support to assigned product lines in order to support execution of R&D initiatives.- Develop part analysis, DOE, validations protocol to maintain or for new or product improvement.- Train supervisors, line leads, and/or operators on design or product changes.- Design fixtures, production tools, and process equipment using modeling software (CAD, solid works or others).- Manage projects which meet timeline, scope and cost.- As an R&D team member, contribute to the Business Franchise goals.- Provide R&D support to quality system (QNC, CAPA, MVP, VALIDATIONS, Deviations)**Education**: Engineering bachelor degree.**Experience**: At Least 4 years of experience in the Maquiladora industry and knowledge of its regulations. Experience in Manufacturing Operations of Medical devices, with solid evidence of continued growth and successful leadership of projects demonstrating achieving results in a team environment. Knowledge of Lean/ 6 sigma tools and methodology.**Specialized****Knowledge**: Bilingual - written and oral (English/ Spanish). FDA, ISO13485, GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) & validation, DOE, layouts, fixture design, statistical analysis**Preferred**: Familiarity of Avanos medical devices and their use in the field, experience with change management, technical writing
