Application Engineer - Scissors page is loaded Application Engineer - Scissors Apply locations MX-Monterrey time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id REQ-2023-4709 Job Description: Position Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Application Engineer, Scissors, are to support strategic project execution and to provide application expertise to the global sales & marketing teams. This position is responsible for executing on Engineering projects to bring new products to market, deliver cost out projects, and to improve product quality. This position will also drive decision making on New Product Development through scope & specification development, competitive benchmarking, financial analysis, and marketing collateral development. You will support other day-to-day operations of product management and project execution as needed.
This position may require travel with the product management and sales teams up to 10%.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities: Be a product and application subject matter expert for scissor lifts.Provide excellent internal customer support on product specific issues and new opportunities.Provide technical product support to the sales teams for machine quoting.Gather market research including field, competitor, and customer information to guide product road mapping processes working with product management.Support the development of product specifications to maximise customer value and differentiation in the market while minimizing cost.Support New Product Development Gate Reviews and develop business cases to justify new projects.Identify opportunities for differentiation of our products, services, and solutions that result in industry leading new products and offerings.Make recommendations for innovative solutions to improve our short-term and long-term competitive position.Prioritize and execute on projects, considering customer impact versus available resources.Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.Requires the ability to travel up to 10% and flexibility to work across different time zones.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 5-years of experience in technical role2+ years of experience with Global Manufacturer in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Services, or similar roleStrong English Communicator & Demonstrated Cross-Functional LeadershipStrong time management and attention to detailMinimum 3 days/week working in-person in a manufacturing settingComfortable demonstrating the complete line of Genie products and working at height. Requires the ability to travel up to 10% and the flexibility to work across global time zones. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience developing business cases and understanding of business financialsOperationally strong with excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work independently.Experience in a similar role, having worked with sales, marketing, and engineering.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, prepare and deliver formal presentations and training.Expert understanding of the manufacturing, engineering, and product support process.Strong prioritization, time management and project management skills.Ability to collect, analyse and use data to support the best business decisions.Proficient with IT tools and applications including Microsoft Office suite.Ability to work effectively in a multi-dimensional, multi-cultural global organization.
