Scope of leadership role Position Summary : Performs basic accounting activities including general ledger, financial reports and account reconciliation within a plant or business unit.
Prepares and compiles basic data for income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports for business unit or plant.
Maintains, reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records to support close process.
May perform some basic cost accounting and / or fixed asset accounting activities such as monitoring cost standards, COGS, etc.
Performs tasks in accordance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards / policies. Implements and maintains automated payroll, and if applicable time and attendance systems.
Responsible for payroll and / or time and attendance system administration and improvements. Prepares program specifications to implement automated payroll and / or time and attendance systems.
Collaborates with local HR, IT and payroll teams to gather and understand local pay policies, union contract requirements, etc.
Verifies and evaluates program specifications created by programmers during multiple test steps to ensure accuracy before system goes live.
Maintains ongoing system administration by collaborating with end users and IT to implement improvements and / or resolve issues as identified.
Acts as liaison between end users and IT to ensure documentation of system functions and capabilities. Facilitates and / or conducts system training for end users.
