Job Summary Managing all revenue management systems. Manages rooms inventory and ensures inventory is allocated and restricted properly to maximize revenue generated by the Sales and Marketing team. Analyzes revenue, profit, and demand associated with hotel rooms inventory. Position contributes to forecasts, budgets, weekly and daily projections. Position critiques sales strategy effectiveness and prepares historical and future analysis of revenue and profit opportunities. Ultimately, the Director of Total Revenue supports and guides the Sales and Marketing team with initiatives and offers to impact target markets. Being part of the Executive Team and reporting to General Manager, you will need to be a seasoned revenue management and analytics professional from a high-end hospitality background, capable of building industry-leading tools and processes, while leading an organization with broad geographic coverage. Key Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for maximizing revenue and profit associated with rooms at the property. The position is accountable for pricing, positioning, and inventory management of transients and groups for the property. Oversees all the processes associated with demand, revenue, forecasting, inventory management, and opportunity analysis. Works with the sales strategy team to develop the hotel sales strategy and ensure implementation. Core Work Activities Executing Revenue Management Projects and Strategy Executes appropriate on-strategy eCommerce priorities and tactics Partners with the marketing team to define and execute the hotel OTA merchandising plan(s). Identifies and executes with Market Managers, hotel OTA tactics as needed (e.g. Booking.com Mailing, Expedia TravelAds, etc.). Manages room authorizations, rates, and restrictions. Maintains the transient rooms inventory for the hotel and is responsible for maximizing transient revenue. Releases group rooms back into general inventory and ensures clean booking windows for customers Ensures that the hotel sales strategies are effectively implemented in the reservation system and the inventory system. Prepares sales strategy meetings. Monitors transient and group inventory daily to ensure straight-line availability and maximization of revenue potential. Ensures that tactics and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate. Ensures compliance and participation in company promotions and eCommerce channels Understands the working relationship between sales, reservations, and property management systems. Participates in periodic regional reviews Promotes and protects brand equity. Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc. Attends meetings to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate and manage activities and solutions. Establishes long-range objectives and specifies the strategies and actions to achieve them. Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes. Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests, etc.). Analyzing and Reporting Revenue Management Data Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales. Creates weekly forecasts for property operations and staffing purposes Maintains accurate reservation system information. Provides revenue analysis functional expertise to general managers, property leadership teams and market sales leaders. Develops and/or uses analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit. Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Building Successful Relationships Proactively develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time. Informs and/or updates the executives, peers and subordinates on relevant information promptly and on time.
