An international Fintech is looking for a self-dependent team player with a can-do attitude and strong legal expertise. The individual in this role will assist with legal tasks and ensure the legal compliance of the company's operations. This includes working closely with Group Legal on various projects and ensuring the compliance of local operations with financial, labor, and administrative regulations.Corporate Legal Manager reports directly to Finance Manager and has a dotted reporting line to the Senior Lawyer. RESPONSIBILITIES · Provide accurate and timely counsel on a variety of legal topics (corporate law, commercial law, labor law, consumer lending, anti-money laundering, personal data protection, internal group legal guidelines etc. · Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and other legal documents to ensure protection of the company's legal rights. · Draft and review memos, legal opinions, internal guidelines and policies. · Participate in negotiations and disputes; if necessary, represent the company before courts and government institutions. · Carry out research and evaluate different risk factors regarding the company's business decisions and operations. · Maintain the company's local corporate structure, communicate with the local company registry, keep up-to-date files on the corporate structure. · Draft decisions of the company's board of directors and shareholders and prepare minutes of meetings of the company's board of directors and shareholders. · Be responsible for local corporate governance. · Serve as the primary liaison for all legal matters between local and global operations, as well as external legal firms. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor's degree in law, Master's degree is a plus · Status of a qualified attorney (abogado/a)capable of representing the company before Mexican courts of law · 3 years of prior experience in a corporate legal department, experience in financial industry is a plus · Advanced English skills (written and spoken, including familiarity with legal terminology) · In-depth understanding of Mexican corporate and commercial laws (including circulars of the Bank of Mexico) · Comprehensive generalist legal experience, spanning contracts, corporate and commercial law, labor issues, M&A, litigation, regulatory compliance Contact Upload your CV and confirm your details by clicking apply.
