The Senior Auditor reports to the Internal Audit Manager or above and has the responsibility of supporting the audit function by participating in any of the following assignments, including but not limited to: continuous monitoring activities, special projects, audits and audit follow-ups, SOX support, under the guidance and supervision of more senior members of the audit department. These assignments will be conducted mainly in Mexicali (up to 90%), but could require some travel, primarily to the United States.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conducts, or supervises an intern or junior staff performing, continuous auditing activities to support External Financial Reporting group;
• With management oversight and supervision as noted:
o With minimal supervision, conducts routine audits and small projects; assists in other audits, as assigned;
o Is delegated to conducts kick-off and close meetings for some projects;
o Conducts follow-up audits to evaluate management action plan implementation to address findings and observations of previous audits;
o With minimal supervision, prepares draft audit report of each follow-up or audit prior to the review of Internal Audit Manager and/or Director;
o May perform areas of the Company’s efforts for compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC reporting requirements, or other applicable legislation or accounting rules and regulations, as assigned;
o With minimal supervision, performs external auditors test work;
o Performs special projects and sensitive assignments, as requested;
o Other assignments as developed by the Internal Audit Manager and/or Director.
• Models the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and sets the standard for professional behavior;
• Participates in the timely completion of departmental administration including but not limited to quality control, timekeeping, compliance with department policies and standards, hiring and performance reviews of staff;
• Performs customary administrative tasks and responsibilities.
Experiencia y requisitos:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience, audit and/or public company experience a plus.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ACL. SAP knowledge a plus.
• Excellent numerical, logical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships with co-workers and business partners.
• Has an advanced understanding of business processes, risk management, best practices and internal controls.
• Ability to meet deadlines and perform detailed work with minimum supervision.
• Availability to travel, primarily to the United States (at least 15%).
