This position will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in Die and Molds maintenance and repair. He will plan, supervise and train skilled employees. Develop and implement methods and procedures which enable die maintenance and repair staff to meet or exceed production and quality expectations to help increase the company's profits as it pertains to the Fabrication Focus Factory.
*Will build and lead a team of Molding and Stamping Technician all shifts.
*Will provide support to another areas and new set ups and machine optimization focusing on lead time and cost reduction
*Work with quality control, manufacturing engineers, finance and production supervisors to improve safety, quality, delivery, cots and inventory.
*Monitor tooling costs and reports cost savings though process improvements.
*Participates in 5s activities
*Develop specialized processes for the machine shop and Manufacturing sign-off on controlled drawings and plans.
*Design fabrication tooling. Lead the development of robust manufacturing workflow processes.
*Support development of workflow, document control and communication processes for global scale
*Plan internal capability expansion, facilities and capital expense
*Own the relationship between our in-house fabrication capabilities and the design teams
*Develop and manage relationships with outside vendor shops in association with design, procurement and quality teams.
*Create a team that Plans of preventive and corrective maintenance for dies and molds and ensure they are met by the team in charge of the workshop of tools.
*Manage the budget of the department according to the work plan and goals planted by the company
*Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments and ensures that tasks are completed effectively and on time.
*Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory of die repair components.
*Bacherlor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.
*7+ years of experience required, including extensive knowledge of mold & progressive dies function including direct supervision of hourly and salaried employees.
*Proficient in Microsoft office products.
*CAD; Solidworks and/or Autocad experience is preferred.
*Background with process improvement.
*Must have demonstrated experience in applying Lean tools and practices and driving a strong Lean / Continuous improvement culture.
*Proven track record of delivering results against stretch objectives is required
*Strong computer skills, proficient with work processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.
*Bilingual
*Must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
*Must have strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others. Able to foster open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
