Job Summary
This role is responsible for architecting and managing the Microsoft enterprise platforms and related infrastructure systems in the Integer environment. This includes the implementation and administration of Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL, Virtualization (Azure, VMware) and Server Backup (Veritas NetBackup). Supports systems availability SLA’s and provides key insight into new technologies that will help drive Integer’s scalability and reliability.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Adheres to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
- Works with the Infrastructure Team to supports, configure, install and maintain SQL database systems.
- Configures SQL backups and ensures recoverability of database components and data.
- Provide support for database security configuration and management, including accounts, roles and privileges.
- Develops standards and guidelines for the SQL server environment and ensures that standards are maintained across all database platforms.
- Analyzes SQL servers and code to ensure all functions are performing at the optimum capacity.
- Acts as lead resource for SQL projects.
- Responsible for the Windows Server infrastructure, including installing updates, troubleshooting technical issues, escalating support cases with vendors, providing guidance to peers on configurations.
- Assists with managing the VMware Infrastructure which includes troubleshooting technical issues, escalating support cases with vendors and building new virtual servers as requested.
- Plans and executes server refresh and optimization efforts to ensure environment is kept current, supportable and scalable.
- Identifies areas of IT system capacity and recommends appropriate planning and mitigation to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
- Responsible for monitoring of SQL systems
- Creates and updates system documentation.
- Acts as point of escalation for technical issues.
- Participates in defining standards and metrics for systems.
- Performs other functions as required to preserve SLA to customer base.
- Complies with all IT policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent (6+ years) of experience.
- Five years of experience managing Microsoft SQL
- Five years of experience managing Microsoft Windows Servers
- Five years of experience in Windows infrastructure and operations support using VMware is preferred.Knowledge & Skills:

- Demonstrated understanding of technical areas including: Active Directory, Azure/O365, Backup and Recovery processes, Windows Server Administration and VMware vCenter
- Demonstrated knowledge of incident management, change management and problem management including root cause analysis following ITIL best practices
- Additional knowledge of products and technologies such as Cloud Architecture, Veritas NetBackup, and SolarWinds are highly desired
- ITIL/ITSM ConceptsOther: Travel 0-15% of time depending on business needs. Participates in on-call rotation and after hours maintenance windows
