Sr. Data Scientist Commerce
Objective / About the area:The Data Science Product team in the retail measurement space helps to deploy cutting edge methodologies in more than 80 markets around the world. We partner closely with our methodology development organization, on the one hand, and our Data Science colleagues who are close to the markets, on the other, to determine the needs and how to adjust the methodologies.
Your main responsibilities asSr. Data Scientist Commerceat Nielsen will be:
Understand methodology, identify what is needed for adaptation to global markets
Engage with Methods to understand methodology
Assist in adapting methodology to ensure it will work in local context
Engage with DBLs to understand market needs
Ensure methodology is as standardized as possible to assist in fast deployment
Develop guidelines, templates, and tools to assist local Data Science with deployment
Provide training to local Data Science on deployment
Answer questions from local Data Science
Provide feedback to the team that developed the methodology on enhancements needed
Work directly with the team that leads methodology development on new enhancements
What makes you the perfect fit for us?
Master’s degree or higher in [Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Data Science, Econometrics, Computer programming] and 3 years of work experience OR
Bachelor’s degree in [Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Data Science, Econometrics, Computer programming] and 5 years of work experience
Proficient knowledge of Programming Language, preferably Python
Demonstrated experience with big data platforms such as Spark or Hadoop
Demonstrated experience with natural language processing
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Experience with e-commerce, item coding, receipt capture and render
Working with stakeholders in a global environment
Experience in retail measurement
