Job Description Role Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Engineer The Opportunity As a FICO SRE Lead Engineer, you are a multi-talented individual responsible for overall production services of highly distributed and complex systems. Experience with developing operational automation and self-healing capabilities is beneficial. Collectively, these traits are inherent to a FICO SRE Engineer and serves to add reliability to not only the overall architecture but build more resilient systems and teams. - Hiring Manager What Youll Contribute Support the full stack of Public Cloud (AWS/Azure), Private Cloud and hosted web-based applications. Drive incidents to resolution and drive permanent corrective actions using your repertoire of coding, analytical, troubleshooting, and infrastructure skillsets. Manage the operations and stability of the environments in accordance with established procedures and best practices. Provide a thorough understanding of service observability using saturation, traffic, latency, and error rate, to ensure SLAs/SLOs/SLIs metrics are met and exceeded. Implement, monitor, refresh, and perform disaster recovery tasks on all supported applications. Incorporate various SDLC methodologies into workflows/communication channels, along with track the effectiveness of the practice. Foster and evangelize best practices for Site Reliability Engineering. What Were Seeking Technical leader with breadth and depth. Multiple specializations over a career is preferable. Technical experience in Java application servers (JBOSS etc), Windows/Linux Operating Systems, network fundamentals, cloud technology fundamentals. Hands-on infrastructure and application software experience working with global teams. Ability to analyze and solve issues for globally distributed systems. KPI driven expertise to quantify application and engineering performance against SLAs/SLOs/SLIs with emphasis on continual improvement and systems reliability/capacity. Full-stack software development experience with focus on automation. Successful SRE Engineers have come from multiple backgrounds but must have Development/Application/Systems Administration experience. Comfortable with a work schedule of Friday-Tuesday, 12-8pm CDT (Wednesday, Thursday off). Bachelors degree or equivalent or higher. Combination Of The Following Technical Skills (Not All Is Required) Full-stack software development with Java Container technologies and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/EKS) High level programming languages (Python/Java) Monitoring/log management tools (Prometheus/Grafana/AppDynamics/CloudWatch/Splunk) Configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef/Ansible) Large Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems (RHEL/Windows Server/Amazon Linux) Knowledge of open-source configuration, orchestration, and CI/CD tools.
