Responsible for the purchasing process on construction sites, ensuring compliance with GE processes and local requirements, a proper and transparent supplier selection process and follow up on the delivery of the parts, services and account payables.
Support the Site Manager on establishing the site purchasing process, follow up site purchase requisitions and orders (POs, FWOs, VOs, amendments)
Report financial forecasts and actuals related to purchases to the Site Finance Controller (or Project Finance Controller in the absence of the former)
Manage the Site Purchasing approval application and process and invoices approval process
Follow up and control of invoices according to agreed contract /offer with supplier
Interface with suppliers in order to negotiate best offers for the project according to the GE Spirit & the Letter and sourcing policies and follow up the necessary requirements for qualifying suppliers in GE
Create and maintain a list of suppliers for services and products in the area and ensure proper interface and relationship with suppliers as per GE Spirit & the Letter
Actively support execution of sourced activities: escalations due to delivery/quality issues/invoicing/payables issues, database management, payment terms
Responsible for complying with any applicable EHS requirement and revert to the supervisor or manager should these be not reasonably practicable to implement
Responsible for complying with any applicable sourcing policies
Placing purchase orders for site requirements under competitive bidding rules and fully compliance as per Spirit & the Letter
Bachelor Degree either in Business Administration or may have engineering degree (with administration training)
2+ years proven experience sales or purchasing of Services Mechanical and Electrical items
Bilingual with good verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish
Ability to manage ambiguous situations in a complex environment required
Knowledge of general technical terms
Good level as user of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle matters discreetly
Effective problem solver, experience with ERP systems under SAP platform
Ability to effectively interact and communicate the site management of all specialties Administration, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Commissioning
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones
Experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team
