Essential Responsibilities

- Leading critical Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) to provide comprehensive technical resolution to ensure a global standard.
- Supporting resolution of technically Engineering Requests (ER) with a sense of urgency.
- Identifying trending issues and provide countermeasures to protect our customers’ fleet.
- Collaborating with Design Engineering, Product Management, Regional Customer Engineering Centers, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to provide sound technical resolution in a timely manner.
- Issuing / actively participate, and be up to date in all Customer Technical Communication documentation to ensure safe/reliable operation of equipment, coordinating across regions and product lines as necessary.
- Ensuring consistent technical communications on a global scale.
- Driving development of technical talent in his organization, aligned with global technical needs and strategy for GT, ST and Generators product services engineers.
- Effective and frequent communication with key Services functions, such as Service Directors, CSL's, Fieldcore, Quality, Performance team, Customer Engineer Leaders, among others.
- Develop and maintain executive level relationships with current and potential customers.
- Promotes customer focused culture.
- Driving change to address customer concerns.
- Promotes simplification projects to reduce issue resolution.
- Must demonstrate ownership in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency to get things done according to expectations of customer and regional business.
- Understands customer’s competitive environment.
- Effective resources management, including those that are not under his direct leadership (other engineering functions, such as design, requisitions and field engineering, among others.
- Responsible for a complete organization within GEIQ.
- Management of budget, HC, and program approvals.

Role Summary/Purpose

The Section Manager for the Product Services Engineering organization is responsible for supporting our global Gas Power customers for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generators products in the field. The manager will lead a team focused on driving technical issue resolution, coordinating and collaborating with Customer Engineering Response Centers.


- Have a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field.
- Relevant experience in an similar role.
- English skills: Excellent written, oral and listening comprehension abilities both in Spanish and in English.
- Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that will not affect getting the message through).

- Demonstrated solid technical skills and experience in accordance with the team's scope.
- Proven experience in successfully managing PB, LPB & SPB employees.
- Management of budget, HC, and program approvals.
- Responsible for the follow up and completion of programs.
- Proven experience Developing Teams.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills or the ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close and manage programs, projects, orders, activities or systems.
- Experience coordinating relevant projects with higher autonomy/ownership.

- Good understanding of ITO, OTR and Power Services processes oriented to Power Generation equipment, as well as Power Generation environment (planned and unplanned outages, and all involved processes).
- Previous experience working with Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine/Generator application and requisition engineering teams, or Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine Performance teams or Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine/Generator Design engineering teams.
- Candidate must be willing to travel between 30% to 50% of the year.
- Legal right to work in México. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.
- In case of being a GEIQ employee, you must have previously occupied a position as a Section Manager, Sub-Section Manager, Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent.

Desired Characteristics

- Knowledgeable of power systems, power plants, controls, Gas turbine, Steam turbine and Generator equipment and terminology.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Excellent technical aptitude, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of other languages and cultures relevant to assigned customer/s.
