Position Overview
Direct the activities of the manufacturing department. Ensure employees are meeting quantity and quality expectations and are working in a safe manner. Supervise and coordinate the counting, packing and preparing of product for shipment to customers. Interface with Customer Service and other departments on shipment plans.

Essential Job Functions
Schedule molding press operators. Monitor Stock Prep, Setup, Molding departments to ensure they are following schedule assigned by Production Scheduler.
Review and signoff on time sheet report every Monday within four hours of start of shift.
Monitor machine operators and review travelers to ensure\:
Acceptable production rate
Acceptable quality and scrap rate
Travelers are completed correctly (incl. lot #’s) and legible.
Ensure proper procedures being followed
Move operators around as needed to cover priority jobs.

Train molders how to manage the loading / unloading process and how to inspect all molded parts for conformance to quality standards.
Monitor subassembly supplies to ensure material available to mold.
Act to replenish subassemblies as needed
Schedule trimming press operators.

Ensure that all trimming equipment is operational. Coordinate repairs as needed to non-functioning equipment.

Monitor and plan trimmers by review travelers to ensure\:
Acceptable production rate

Acceptable quality and scrap rate

Travelers are completed correctly (incl. lot #’s) and legible.

Ensure proper procedures being followed

Train trimmers how to manage the trimming processes and how to inspect all trimmed parts for conformance to quality standards.

Work with the Production Schedule and make a list of jobs available for trimming.

Monitor stock prep and review travelers to ensure\:
Acceptable amount of raw product for molding needs

Acceptable quality and scrap rate

Travelers are completed correctly (incl. lot #’s)

Ensure proper procedures being followed

Train stock prep how to manage the loading / unloading process.

Assure traveling Head and Center hole punching operation and die cleaning completed when needed

Monitor LINE CHECK sheets completed by operators to identify and address problem areas as well as to ensure acceptable production numbers.
Thorough understanding of material identification and manufacturing processes
Ability to operate molding & trim presses, & trouble shoot jobs
Understand to finite detail the shadow board for defectives for all product.
Mentor all new / inexperienced machine operators
Develop personal growth opportunities
Check for shortfalls that may impact operations
Manually count product prior to packing for shipment

Use electronic scale to weight count smaller sized / larger quantity parts

Use label machine to prepare labels per customer specification

Participate in quarterly physical inventory

Process material transactions in the Oracle manufacturing system

Process shipments via UPS and Fed Ex, DHL and other shipping systems

Manually trim parts as required

Schedule customer shipments and Review shipping schedule daily for new orders or orders we can ship within the two-week window.

Review & process Kanban orders

Move manufacturing overruns to storage area

Spend most of your time on the manufacturing floor (85% - 90%)
Reassign employees to other duties as needed.
Foster teamwork through communication & listening skills
Maintain adherence to company policies, safety & housekeeping rules
Escalate significant issues to Operations Manager. Handle minor issues.
Hold employees accountable per company guidelines
Must be willing to work at least 10 hours of overtime per week. Start shift one hour before the scheduled shift and stay fifteen minutes after mold shift is complete to review travelers.

All other duties as assigned

General
To store parts in their proper storage location.
Keep work area clean and organized.
To help operate machines.
To help with material handling to provide smooth manufacturing flow.

Safety\:
Must report any safety concerns to Operations Manager and Safety Committee
Must report any hygiene concerns to Human Resources.
Wears Personal Protective Equipment as designed and when in the work area always.
Recommends safety improvements to safety committee members
Understand safety procedure including fire safety, usage of knives, cutting tools and dies, and Teflon gloves

Requirements
Must read, write and speak English
At least 26 years of age
Capable of working in a rubber molding environment

Education Requirements
4-year technical degree or 10 years’ experience in related industry
math and basic SPC skills

Fork Lift Operators License

Computer Skills – Oracle Business System, Windows, Microsoft Apps., Internet, Shipping and Compliance

Excellent leadership and communication skills, oral and written. Ability to hold accountability
