Main objective:Support to the Trade Associations participation and the relationship with Local Government in Mexico.
Main Activities:
1)Contribute to create a favorable climate for the business of the Company, by influencing on the decisions made by thelocal States Entities.
a.Liaison with States entities and local authorities
b.Follow up of incentives and any other issue related to the different complexes of the Company
c.Special projects Follow up within the Sates where General Motors has a direct impact
d.Communication Channel between GM (CO) and its complexes regarding Governmental issues
e.Reporting and presenting as required.
2)Effective participation intrade associationsto achieve business goals including AMIA (Automotive
Mexican Industry Association), the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico (AMCHAM), the Executive Board of Global Companies (CEEG) and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).
a.Strengthen corporate reputation
b.Develop negotiation channels
c.Increase influence through active networking with governmental stakeholders
d.Obtain feedback and valuable input
a.Identify and monitor emerging issues in policy & political environment, which includes: activity in the legislative branch of the Mexican government (Congress of the Union) and regulatory projects (COFEMER)
b.Provide efficient, consistent and quick analysis
c.Shape policy with stakeholders to promote & protect the company´s various legislative interest and if necessary, the Government Affairs Direction will develop a strategy
4)Plan of action to manage/maintainrelationships with key stakeholders–be viewed as a trusted and reliable partner and source of information
a.Mapping analysis ensures affective and efficient stakeholder engagement
b.Build strong relationship
c.Create strategic alliances
d.Participate in high-level meetings to advocate GMM´s position


Knowledge of the different Local Programs and Governmental Entities.
Trade Association´s knowledge
Knowledge of GMM business structure & main function responsibilities
Development and Coordination of Projects.
Mexican Federal Government Structure´s knowledge
·Proficient oral and written communication skills (Spanish and English).
·High level of interpersonal skills to work effective with others.
·Very high level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and extremely difficult.
·Leadership to coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary teams to achieve the expected results
·Task and result oriented
·Priority setting.
·Bachelor in Administration, International Business, Political Sciences, Economy and Law.
·Master Degree in Business administration or International Business (Desirable)
·Minimum 2 years of experience in Government Relations or Government Affairs.
Work with team
Fluent in English to have a conversation and draft business documents
