COMPETITION OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The Human Resources Section wishes to announce an anticipatory staffing process for a Passport, Citizenship and Consular Assistant at the LE-06 level within the Canadian Diplomatic Mission Network in Mexico. This staffing process will serve to build an eligibility list of qualified candidates at the LE-06 level to be used for indeterminate appointments or temporary assignment at this level within the whole Canadian Consular Network in Mexico, therefore, when you submit your application, you must specify if you wish to be considered for both types of employment or not.
CURRENT STAFFING NEEDS:
Using this list, we will staff a temporary Consular Assistant position at the LE-06 level for an 18-month period at the Consular Agency of Canada in Cancun (to cover a Canadian maternity leave). Please note that when you submit your application, you must specify if you wish to be considered for this specific temporary employment opportunity.
Generic Job Description (summary):

Under the general supervision of the Senior Passport and Citizenship Officer, this position provides passport, citizenship, consular and administrative support services to Canadian citizens within the country; receives and reviews passports applications and citizenship documents for Canadian citizens abroad; completes financial and accounting services in support of consular, passport and citizenship services provided; and performs other duties as required. The assistant is occasionally the first point of contact for distressed Canadians.

Level and Salary:Level 6 (Base salary at step 1) = 287,530 MXN pesos per year (37.5 hours / week)
Benefit package:
Schedule of 37.5 hours per week
Paid overtime
Fifteen days of vacation leave per year during the first two years and then it increases to twenty days (prorated)
Aguinaldo of one month of base salary (prorated)
Vacation Premium of 50% (prorated)

Statement of Essential Qualifications:

Candidates are required to clearly demonstrate how they meet the screening requirements (education and experience) in their cover letter and CV.

EDUCATION

University Degree (“título”) related to the position from a recognized university.
EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years of recent experience (in the last five years) in providing client service to the public involving difficult and/or challenging situations.
Minimum of one year of recent experience (in the last five years) in data entry and/or using a web-based case/client/file management system.
Rated Requirements:

Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following: written test, oral communication, roleplay, interviews and reference checks. All qualifications are non-compensatory.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Proficiency in Spanish, English and French
KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of office and correspondence procedures.
Knowledge of standard computer software (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
