Job Profile Summary
The Automotive Systems Mechanical Engineering manager shall be responsible for all mechanical engineering development activities, including establishment of requirements, design, implementation, and verification for mechanical components and assemblies used in automotive audio systems. As manager of the group, this individual shall be responsible for the technical quality and timeliness of the group's development and activities. These activities include the design and development of high-volume packaged electronics, metal die castings, stampings and injection-molded plastics. The manager will insure compliance to the mechanical engineering design practices and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of those practices in the pursuit of functional excellence.

Experiencia y requisitos:
Responsible for day-to-day tactical management of development issues and continuing engineering activities.
Establish development schedules, part cost, tooling cost and labor estimates for new programs.
Direct interaction with OEM customers at customer sites and Bose facilities in support of the concepting & selling of new projects and in support of existing contracted work.
Manage the daily personnel/operating activities of the department, interviewing, hiring, training, providing technical and career guidance, performance reviews, mentoring, etc
Ultimate ownership for the technical quality, functional completeness, and on-time delivery of the final product.
Assist in establishment of the company's long-range product development goals and objectives
Remain abreast of current technological progress to ensure company's products remain marketable and competitive
Lead and sponsor continuous improvement projects
Create and manage the ME team’s budget.
4-7 years research and/or development experience
5 years management responsibility
Excellent organizational, leadership, decision making, human relations and communication skills
Prior experience with the following: Finite Element Analysis, structural analysis, electronics packaging and cooling, design for thermal/shock/vibration, die-casting, injection-molding; PCB packaging, DFM, DFMEA
Knowledge of solid-modeling required, NX preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills
Proven track record of effective management and leadership roles.
Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
Experience interacting with customers (preferably automotive).
