Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented mechanical designer for our Food and Consumer Products design team. In this role, the designer would provide mechanical design support and equipment integration for a wide range of projects and clients in the sanitary space.

An ideal candidate will be a proven self-starter that demonstrates strong leadership and comprehension skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Mechanical design, equipment integration and/or piping design support for a wide range of food, beverage and consumer product projects.
Primary focus will be equipment integration and piping.
Secondary focus will be support of process mechanical projects as well as HVAC and utilities.
Will create process piping layouts.
Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree / RELATED / 3-5OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of mechanical design and equipment integration
Skilled in one or more 3D mechanical software packages such as Plant 3D or AutoCAD 3D
Must be experienced in general arrangements and equipment layouts
Must have experience in preparing packages for vendor quotations or equipment fabrication
Working knowledge of process piping systems or related experience
Working knowledge of fabrication and construction techniques. Former fabrication or construction experience is a plus
Working knowledge of sheetmetal design and fabrication is a plus (chutes, duct work, etc)
Working knowledge of HVAC and utility systems is a plus
Must have mechanical design and equipment related design experience. The successful candidate will reflect a history and working knowledge of mechanical and/or piping design and use of 3D.
Must be a collaborative and productive member of a project team
Must be able to work independently and coordinate with others to successfully execute projects
Must be proactive and forward thinking taking into account potential risks during project execution that may affect SSOE or our clients
Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Must be willing to travel. Travel includes travel to the United States.
