GeneralResponsible and accountable for supervising the Material Handling operations for engine plant.Supports BPD / Scorecard achievementAssesses weekly control charts with Material Handling ManagerRepresents the department in various activities or committees as requiredKey interface to Planning groups within MaterialsSupports and participates in prototype, pilot and model change programsInternal Controls compliance for their functionsSafetyCoordinates safety and ergonomics issues for the departmentCoordinates mobile equipment needs with WFGResponsible for maintaining compliance to GM/Union Safety requirementsEnsure hazardous material compliance for material business processes as required by regionPeopleCoordinates initial work assignments/line and/or labor balance, routing activitiesReplaces Material Handling Manager as requiredDevelops and maintains labor relations and compliance to the local agreementTrains and develops co-workers / subordinatesMaintains department hourly vacation schedule, overtime equalization, etc.QualitySupports and participates in MVB and model change programsCoordinates material department mobile equipment assignmentsAudits and supports all floor requirements to maintain compliance to GMS elementsMaintains ISO standardsResponsivenessReviews department goals (quality, cost, efficiency, etc.) and assists groups as required to support improvement in theseareasMaintains constant contact with production floor operations to support their needsRepresents the department in various activities or committees as requiredDevelops changes to improve existing conditions (layouts, ergonomics, routings, tooling, facilities, material) andcommunicate requirements through implementationResponsible to oversee plant floor Plan For Every Part activity (packaging, DLOC, ULOC, Min/Max, piece bank)CostCoordinates floor related suggestionsSupport Implementation and reports CIPKeeps physical and system stock figures (cycle counts, adjustments, etc…)Monitor the scorecard reporting processParticipates in departmental/functional Gap Closure Planning ProcessProvides input into budget development based on Annual Plans and ongoing Gap Closure PlanningCommunicates business plan requirements to direct reports and staff members (format, due dates, etc…)Documents plans/ideas for future years business planning
QUALIFICATIONS:- College degree with a major in Engineering, Materials Management, Industrial engineering, Mechanic Engineering.1-2 years of experience working in Material Handling Activities, Production Control, Floor Operations.COMPETENCES:-Action Oriented
