LAN Legal ManagerPosition´s objectiveEnsure that the Company and its business initiatives in the LAN region, comply with legal requirements in order to prevent or correct legal risks by (i) providing business oriented legal advice based on local and/or international laws, treaties and regulations, (ii) assuring that company’s global and regional policies are observed, and (iii) implementing legal strategies to achieve an efficient operation while avoiding material contingencies.Responsibilities:Delivers legal advice regarding Local Law and International Law, to LAN Legal Entities.
Drafts and directly negotiates agreements and prepares associated legal documentation for LAN Legal Entities with a minor supervision from LAN Lawl Lead and assists the LAN Legal Lead in structuring, drafting and negotiating key/material transactions/programs for the Company in the region.
Provides legal support and advice to crop protection, seeds and traits, vegetables and supply chain business, including sales, marketing, strategy, regulatory, manufacturing and breeding organizations in the region.
Manages specific litigation in the LAN region.
Proposes to the LAN Legal Lead strategies to prevent and/or correct legal risks in the region.
Interacts and manages outside counsel relationships in specific countries in LAN.
Directly interacts with different members of the Law Team in St Louis and other countries, to assure coordination and support for different projects.
Develops and maintains public (government) and private networks, to address FTO issues with the agility demanded by the business.


Education, Knowledge and ExperienceRequired studies level:Licensed Attorney to Practice in Mexico (other countries in LAN will be considered), Master’s Degree in Law.Areas of study:Corporate Law, Administrative Law, Contract Law, Litigation IP, Law, Environmental Law and International Law. Strong foundations and practice if Administrative Law is desirable.Experience required7-10 years of experience. Working experience in a top Law firm, Multinational or top Mexican Corporation is desirable.Experienced areas:Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, Antitrust, Contracts, Litigation, Labor Law, Administrative Law and Environmental Law.English requirements:Advance - 100% (spoken and written)Experience as people manager (in years):Desirable (although this position doesn’t have direct reports)Technical CompetenciesContract and Corporate Law / Medium
