JOB OVERVIEW
The IT Technical Specialist, SAP III is a technical role with global responsibilities for the availability, performance and maintenance of mission critical SAP applications. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with Infrastructure, Security and Applications teams to proactively ensure the SAP applications are sized appropriately, secure and in a supported state according to SAP maintenance cycles.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leads annual technical application upgrades to at least 20% of the SAP environment Act as Subject Matter Expert for SAP Basis related to application architecture, security and support processes. Superior communications skills - both oral and written - to successfully interact with project teams from various departments/business units. Owns system refresh support for SAP deployment activities according project timelines Identification and promotion of Basis software and processes in alignment with Global Amcor PLC needs Change agent for SAP processes in support of maximum planned application availability Maintenance of annual SAP Support budget Support IT goals and objectives including measures and projects Optimization of SAP support processes utilizing Solution Manager for proactive application monitoring Drive awareness of SAP deployed application roadmaps in coordination with Global Application teams Spearhead European and Latin American support for unique taxation and reporting requirements Ensure Change Control processes are followed both for object transport and Basis system modifications Drive complex Basis troubleshooting and use root cause analysis for continuous improvement Collaborates and assists with the coordination/management of vendors who are contracted for services relating to the computing infrastructure at Amcor PLC Strategic implementation of SAP technology opportunities that enhance the Amcor user experience through higher efficiency, availability or usability Responsible for SAP Data Archiving execution Provide recommendations for SAP Architecture (On-Premise/Cloud, OS, Database) according to Amcor objectives and Financial Analysis Collect and report on monthly SAP BASIS Metrics to IT Leadership Mentor as a senior technical resource for Basis Administrators while training teammatesQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent work experience A minimum 10 years of experience in SAP BASIS administration in a 24/7 environment Experience supporting systems within a manufacturing environment would be a plus On-call based on a rotating 7x24 schedule Proven track record designing Global SAP Basis Support processes Travel 5 – 10% (International and domestic) SAP and Database Certifications preferred SAP Certified Associate SAP OS/DB Migration Certified Microsoft Certified Solutions Administrator/Expert Agility, sound judgment, independent thinking, follow-through, critical thinking and initiative Ability to efficiently identify and solve advanced issues Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Energy and passion with an eye towards continuous improvement in self and business processes Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with a proven high level of facilitation skills in a global environment Must be results orientated with the ability to multi-task, respond to needs quickly and meet deadlines Ability to self-prioritize and use well established organizational skills and have the ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team Demonstrates drive, purpose, high engagement and ownership in our high-performance cultureREQUIRED AMCOR LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK COMPETENCIES
