Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities:
The On Site Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting all software and hardware used in the Monterrey site in order to meet operational and client requirements. The On Site Engineer will handle all 2nd line support cases on Workstation, Server, Voice and Networking level.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting all servers, workstations, laptops, phones, mobiles, printers and other hardware
Installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting all software on workstations and servers in a 2nd line position required for live operation and development infrastructure
Preparing, modifying and updating schematics and inventories of all hardware, software, images, licenses, phone extensions, network, seats and services
Complete assigned Incidents, Change and Service Requests within the guidelines of the ICT SLA's
Keep updated with technology improvement. Ensure that the used software is supported and follows the suppliers' recommendations (valid only if required equipment is available)
Providing technical assistance and coaching to all end-users and other ICT staff
Maintains and administers solutions in support of current and potential business clients
Backup servers configurations / maintenance /tapes files restore / tapes change
Print server management: installation and spool management
Startup of and participate in ICT projects in purpose of the supported hardware and software using project management tools for tracking and reporting of projects (e.g. AD and Exchange 2003 migration, PCI compliancy, etc...)
Creating and maintaining Documentation on all procedures, software installations, hardware setup, etc.
User account management, user script maintenance, proxy configuration and rules, network monitoring and alarming
Voice Announcement creation and maintenance
Performing regular security checks
Performing other ICT duties as assigned, in line with the function of Onsite engineer
Typical Qualifications:
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities typically needed to perform this job)
A Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems or ICT related position or a minimum of 5 years experience in a Systems or ICT related position
Experience Target:
Previous call centre experience is an asset
English: fluent both written and verbal
Knowledge of Microsoft OS, configuration, administration & maintenance (MCSE is a plus)
Ability to perform pro-active maintenance
Understanding of financial drivers
Open minded towards new Developments & tools
Understanding Project Management Methodology
Good knowledge of networking systems
Good knowledge of Telephony systems
Good scripting skills
Excellent hardware knowledge
Strong analytical skills
Full customer service focus
Good communication skills

Internal :
Attending meetings with ICT colleagues and internal customers when needed
Being able to communicate with all levels of employees
External :
May be requested to represent SITEL in technical discussions with business client IT and supplier IT staff
Regular contact with external clients for IT related issues.
Regular contact with suppliers
Problem-solving and autonomy of decision
Ability to react proactively, immediately and accurately in business critical issues
The On Site engineer must be able to quickly resolve any problems affecting day-to-day network operations
Need to find automatic solutions to decrease manual intervention.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within guidelines
Ability to make decisions based on priorities and business needs
Ability to manage resources and workloads via colleagues on site
Ability to escalate issues & risks to relevant owners on Site and within Organisation
Working conditions
May be required to work shifts
Working after hours and in weekends when needed
Working under high pressure
Physical work is required (i.e. move of hardware, crawling under desks, working in a noisy area like the server room)
