What you will do: This position operates from the Durango Plant Site. Responsible for providing subject matter expertise and leadership for human resource functions in Durango Plant. HR supports everything related to compensation, benefits, training & development, employee communications, HRIS, employee relations, HR functional management that drive business results in the designated location. Collaborates in the development of people strategies and initiatives that align with and drive business objectives. Collaborates with key customers including the management team. Develops Human Resources strategies for Durango Plant
How you will do it:
•Develops strategies, processes, and programs focused on recruiting high potential staff, management and direct labor .
•Partners with managers to assess staffing requirements and reports key metrics related to staffing needs and trends (e.g., cost per hire, time to fill, etc.).
•Oversees full cycle of recruitment process from candidate sourcing through hire.
•Develops and supports the diversity recruiting strategy.
•Ensures appropriate work authorizations are in place for new and existing employees.
•Ensures that open door policy is available to all employees and promotes the LEM behaviors.
•Proposes resolution options for employee relations matters, investigations and litigation, considering potential risks and needs of the business.
•Ensures a good relationship with Union
•Consults and coaches line management on people decisions (e.g., performance management, employee relations) to ensure they align with the people strategies and ensures legal compliance.
•Partners with Union, outside counsel, Corporate HR and/or Corporate Legal in investigations or claims of a serious/high profile nature.
•Ensures compliance to all HR policies and practices as well as all statutory requirements of the country.
•Collaborates with management in making recommendations to address training and development needs of individuals.
•Works closely with senior management to ensure that replacement planning is being done for all management level positions.
•Builds capability of management by providing leadership training and management tools needed to effectively manage a high caliber workforce.
•Ensure the ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and OSHAS 18000 training needs
•Monitors trends and identifies gaps between business needs and people systems/capabilities in the organization.
•In partnership with the management team, ensure corporate initiatives are aligned with appropriate people strategies (e.g., related to recruitment, training and development, benefits, retention, managing performance, compensation, recognition) to advance the company’s business goals.
•Collaborates on the most appropriate method for communicating key messages to the organization.
•Ensures appropriate metrics and targets for assessing the effectiveness of people strategies are in place.
Compensation & Benefit:
•Provides recommendations for development and implementation strategies for total compensation, including benefits, base pay, incentives, recognition programs, etc.
•Stays abreast of industry and country trends, regulations, processes, and technology related to compensation & benefits programs within the region.
•Oversees the analysis of total cash competitive data, internal pay practices, internal/external equity, and cost implications of recommendations for the Region.
•Ensures the HRIS is maintained and able to support the needs of the organization.
•Ensures efficiency of system and training on the use and functionality of the HRIS as a management tool.
•Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
•Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
•Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues (that require escalation).
•Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Management to best meet company goals and objectives.
•Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
•Operates within budgetary constraints, participates in the development of annual budget forecasts;
•Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures.
•Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives
What you will require
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management and/or equivalent work related and Master´s Degree in Administration
- Minimum of eight years of progressive experience as Hr Generalist
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite)
