Head of Marketing and Sales for Power Generation Services, Distribution Generation and Oil and Gas
The Head of Marketing and Sales (HoMKS) is accountable for developing and owning the strategy for aftermarket sales, including turbomachinery spare parts, spare engines, repair & overhaul, upgrades and Long Term Service Programs for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. The HoMKS is also accountable to direct and coordinate the Proposal Manager to ensure best degree of effectiveness to meet customer demands. The (HoMKS) will work closely with the Head of Sales and Client Managers as well as with the Latin America team and Factories worldwide to meet the agreed targets. This will include the whole process of developing opportunities and strategies from identification to contract closure.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain an annual territory/bookings strategy/plan to meet/exceed a YOY operating plan growth trend.
Capture Team Leader – assembles the project development team for both the conceptual phase and the RFQ phase, for complete project bid scope including customer services. In addition, is expected to lead the technical and commercial negotiations with the customer, until contract closure.
Develop Forecast on Order Intake and report on each on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
Qualify opportunities through a selectivity process to determine bid strategy and solution.
Develops the market level pricing recommendation based on competitive position, regional strategy, etc.
Successfully defines work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
Develops and manages departmental budgets and business plans for the Proposal and Sales Organization
Work "hand in hand" with the Head of sales and Head of Operations during the development of the customer relationship and initial project identification.
Identify technical and commercial project risks and develop mitigation plans ensuring successful outcome.
Train and educate the client facing team on new service offerings within the product responsibility.
Provide voice of the client needs/competitive intelligence, market drivers and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Extensive commercial development experience including contract and order negotiation experience
Proven sales success in the oil and gas, power generation, or energy service industry
Extensive product knowledge
Prior regional customer knowledge and dealing
BSME or BSEE, MBA or MSc preferred
Excellent written and oral presentation skills
Commercial “closer”
Excellent communicator both verbally and written at all levels, internally and externally (both English and Spanish)
10+ years of relevant experience
Travel 50-70%
