Job Description:
The Key Account Leader is a customer facing position responsible for establishing and executing the strategies necessary to increase 3M business and relevance with the customer, achieving the defined sales objectives for the Key Account. She/He will do so by successfully transmitting the Voice of Customer within 3M and leveraging both Global and Local 3M resources and networks to meet customer needs. This strategic role is expected to guide 3M’s growth and market relevance in the short, mid and long term for both spec-in and consumable products within her/his assigned account.
In this strategic role, the Key Account Manager must be able to positively interact throughout his customer’s entire organization building a collaborative network at all levels. She/He will interact with all relevant departments within his customer’s organization such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Planners, Managers and occasionally top level Executives. Developing a deep understanding of the customer’s Global and Local organization, KPIs, market share, strategies as well as design, manufacturing and marketing trends is critical to the position. She/He will be seen by our local organization as the ultimate customer expert providing customer and market insights to 3M Leadership while enabling and actively participating in the decision making process.
The Key Account Manager will manage the pipeline of business development opportunities in his account and will effectively engage and collaborate with all relevant areas within 3M, such as Tech Service, Customer Service, Demand Planners, LSS, Project Leaders, Site Sales Reps, Marketing, Business Managers and Directors in order to grow the business and meet sales quota while offering a value added proposal to her/his customer.
She/He will be responsible for understanding 3M’s Global strategies related to the account and will actively collaborate with the Global Key Account Managers ensuring that local execution meets both local and global objectives. Within the Global Key Account organization, this position will be considered as the Country expert and will provide clear information about the customer’s contact matrix, project charters, launching dates, cost reduction initiatives, quality concerns, KPIs, product launches, account mapping and future business opportunities.
This position requires a highly motivated and self driven professional with the necessary strategic and analytical thinking skills to endure a constantly changing corporate business environment. Must demonstrate exceptional selling skills, as well as business planning and leadership skills.
Bachelor level university degree in Engineering or related major
A minimum of 3 years of working experience with Automotive Key Accounts that have global footprint
Specification process knowledge is preferred (Spec-in)
Advanced English, written and spoken
Intermediate computer skills in Office
Project Management knowledge and experience is desirable.
Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce, SAP, Siebel)
Experience with Automotive OEMS is preferred
Training on Sales Process and Techniques is preferred.
Time Management, Prioritization and Administrative Skills is required
