Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring company environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Tours plant to inspect to identify ensure compliance with safety regulations. Conducts or coordinates environmental training to educate workers about emergency response, safety policies, laws and practices. Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors. Serves as internal consultant to business units on hazardous materials, fire and chemical safety matters. Audits business units. Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters. Compiles and submits safety reports. Administers workers compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return to work program. Here is some of what youll need (required) Minimum 4 years experience in similar position within a manufacturing environment Intermediate - Advanced English Degree in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, safety or equivalent. Knowledge of environmental safety policies, applicable laws, controls, guidelines and regulations. Experience in risk analysis Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes. Experience in EHS management system related in manufacturing facility. ISO 14001 Knowledge in NOM Ability to quickly interpret complex regulatory issues and provide recommended course of action.
