Role Summary:The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new opportunities with key clients for sustainable business growth. Frequent interaction with internal and external customers is crucial to ensure that customer expectations are consistently exceeded. Coordinate activities and monitor activities across all customer assets to ensure value is being created that is essential in driving increased revenue and profit for the company.
Essential Responsibilities:Immediate development of new business opportunities for Upstream Chemicals
Serve as Interface between customer headquarters team, BHGE field personnel, Product Line and Global Account Management Team; shape and manage expectations between all parties.
Plan and present semi-annual reports to the customer that cover BHGE’s safety and technical performance; value added initiatives, and opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Manage and coordinate activities across all customer assets to ensure process standardization, best practice sharing, and aligned goals and initiatives.
Monitor activity and enforce all contract clauses and rules to ensure BHGE is receiving full value of contract.
Lead mitigation team/process for any area wide issues that develop under the contract.
Provide business decision support, through forward-looking analysis, challenge of commercial sensitivities, and risk assessment
Provide the financial context for decisions, ensuring strategy alignment and transparency of impact on various financial metrics for BHGE Upstream Chemicals
Supports on-going business analysis and reports business drivers (contract changes, volumes, operational issues, start-ups, etc.)
Qualifications/Requirements:Thorough knowledge of Upstream (Production) Chemicals and its customer base
Fluent in Spanish and English
Strong sales and negotiations acumen
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. Consideration will be given to College graduates with BAs combined with minimum 10 years’ experience in the O&G sector.
10+ years of field, sales, or technical experience in Upstream or Downstream Specialty Chemicals
Knowledge of product portfolio spanning multiple business segments and competitive markets.
Possesses a distinguished and sustained sales achievement record.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent negotiating skills. Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated understanding of sales process, ability to build strong relationships and close business.
Good knowledge of commercial and contract language. Ability to coach others.)
Desired Characteristics:Strong Contract administration experience - T&Cs, invoicing, financial metrics
Super major or major client experience with performance management
Previous experience with customers and cultures in Latin America
Advanced MS Office skills
Ability to effectively solve problems by using analytical skills to reach a logical conclusion.
Travel required in this role, minimum 50% time allocation in travel
Locations:Houston, TX or Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico (the employee will be based in one of the cities).
