Join the Vestas MED in Mexico and you will interact with all the different departments.DepartmentThe position will report directly to the VP Head of Business Development of Vestas Mediterranean (MED) who is based in Madrid. Based in Mexico, this position will require to work in close cooperation with Business Development teams, Sales MED teams and Vestas MED people in general.Vestas MED is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.Responsibilities and TasksThe Head of Business Development for LATAM New Countries, will oversee the development of new markets within MED securing the pipeline for the future, screening current opportunities, developing new ones and creating by the involvement of different stakeholders the wind market acting as ambassador.Identify and pursue sales prospects in the region by initial screening.
Carry out pre-sales customer development in a professional, business minded and customer- friendly manner for the region.
Use Vestas wind resource assessment to help the prospective customers to do initial wind analysis, being a market builder.
Identify potential sales that can be proposed to customers for development.
Educate prospective customers on the potential returns from wind power.
Support Vestas’s political agenda, marketing and branding activities, acting as “Vestas Ambassador”.
Develop institutional relationships.
Develop, review and report on the business development for LATAM
Secure customer loyalty by providing customers with optimal support and professionalism in the sales development phase and by supporting through communication and coordination.
Develop market entry strategies and have a complete understanding of the market dynamics.
Develop Partnerships: Ensure, develop and maintain through an Exclusivity Agreements with strategic partners and stakeholders in order to positioning Vestas technology a as a first wind turbine supplier solution and market leader.
Introduce financial institutions with prospective customers; develop initiatives relative to wind project financing in relation with BD teams and Finance teams of Vestas in charge.
Secure an appropriate hand-over to Sales when project became credible project.
Ensure alignment with MED Business Development strategy and process.
QualificationsWe are looking for someone who has:Master degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) and/or Economics-Business Administration.
Postgraduate studies will be specially considered (MBA or specific Finance/ Engineering related master studies)
Experienced – min 8 years – in Sales or Business Development in some of the markets in scope for the position (LATAM)
Knowledge on the Energy Sector, Renewable/Wind Energy Market would be an advantage.
Knowledge of economic, political and cultural terms of targets countries. High learning approach and cultural management.
Business Acumen. Good understanding about the value chain Sales, Construction, Service, Supply Chain, Finance.
Ability to identify and involve business stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills.
High personal drive, independent work style, result oriented and with well adaptation to a change environment.
Proven analytical skills will be an advantage.
Outstanding languages skills: Fluent in spoken and written English
The position involves intensive business travel.
