Service Department is responsible for the good performance of our clients Eolic Parks and guarantees the best performance of each WTG during its functional life cycle. Also ensures the WTG’s to generate to its full capacity.
The Blades Lead position is within the Service MED organization under the region of Latin America's Technical Planning Office (LATAM TPO), which is responsible for providing world class service to WTGs and clients in the Mediterranean and Latin American regions. The LATAM service region consists of 11 countries and three sub regions with main offices in Mexico City, Santiago, and Sao Paulo. Latin America is a key growth region for Vestas and has high visibility in the senior management of the company.
The Technical Planning Office supports operations and contract engineering departments in ensuring that all major technical projects are implemented and communicated to customers in an efficient and effective manner. In addition to having ownership of all major corrective actions on our turbines, the TPO works to ensure processes optimization and risk mitigation and to provide a technical resource for communicating technical issues to customers.
This position will focus on leading a team of distributed technicians for all blade work occurring in Latin America. This position will focus on managing said distributed team for optimal support throughout the region. Tasks will include but are not limited to managing a complex schedule to minimize idle resources, ensuring material availability, transport, and customs with internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining an understanding of blade technology and repair processes in order to provide both a critical eye to the work performed and feedback to Technology/R&D. Participating in customer communications regarding blades as an expert witness
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent years of highly technical experience.

5+ years of field service/management experience.

Wind turbine knowledge/experience

Fiber composites knowledge

High level organizational skills for managing personnel and complex projects

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Understanding of formal problem solving/improvement techniques (8D, DMAIC, etc.)

Strong multi-discipline engineering knowledge including comfort with structural and electrical engineering

Basic knowledge in the use of CAD/ProE

Basic knowledge of finite element modeling preferred
