The Senior Corporate Joining Specialist reports to the Director of Material Joining and is responsible to Research, develop and implement state-of-the-art joining processes to support new products, quality improvements efforts and productivity increase initiatives for the Metallics Business Unit. The successful candidate will be based in northern Mexico or southern US region . The candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish, written and oral).
Required Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Education (Community College or Undergrad Degree) in the one of the following:
- Weld Engineering, Technologies
- Manufacturing (Automation and Tooling) with material joining experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Various Joining technologies with manufacturing/automation and tooling program management experience
- Ability to interpret customer joining specifications and testing requirements, destructive and nondestructive
- Ability to interpret automotive joining prints, BOMs, SORs and math data
- Experience in robotic programming and process equipment interface
- Experience establishing process parameters and monitoring on various joining equipment's controllers
- Strong trouble shooting skills of process equipment issues, joint issues, and tooling issues
- Strong communicator in English and Spanish languages, both written and oral
- Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Demonstratedleadership skills
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Catia, Spinfire, UG)
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical guidance and control to all aspects of material joining engineering requirements associated with manufacture and launch of automated assembly/joining systems.
- Provide authoritative advice in product / process validation and verification strategies
- Interpret and assess requirements of standards and specifications
- Oversees the specification and purchase of capital joining equipment
- Collaborate with R&D teams developing new processes to implement highly capable and effective manufacturing strategies
- Work with product development engineers to provide input for manufacturing specifications and requirements
- Support new business quoting initiatives by delivering joining technology presentations and discussions with potential customers
- Support installation, tryout, and debug of joining equipment at the assembly plant
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
- 50% Office environment 50% Vendor and R&D Center Plant floor (PPE required). A valid passport and the ability to cross international borders will be required
Physical Demands:
- Standing for long periods with moderate lifting to 40lbs
Health and Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
