Job DescriptionSoftware Quality Analyst
Steelcase Monterrey is looking for a Software Quality Analyst; This role will be focused on testing and verifying the performance of an interiors planning software. SmartTools is a design and specification software used by our dealers and Steelcase to design, specify and render drawings of customer spaces along with installation plans for install purposes. It delivers a customer-facing tool for developing typical application solutions and alternatives that aid the customer decision process and distributor ordering process.
Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with global teams of Requirements, Development and Interior Design.
Performs various types of testing to determine the actual compliance of the software to existing Requirements and Specification Guides.
Entry of error conditions(bugs) into a tracking database with enough clarity to ensure that the project team’s software developers and requirement teams can understand the issue.
Performs regression testing efforts to determine the consistency of previous software behavior with new releases.
Validates resolutions provided to previously identified errors(bugs).
Builds comprehensive test plans from requirements and specifications.
Builds test cases and scenarios based on requirements.
Works closely with project managers to establish project deliverables and timelines.
Provides training and support to end users locally, and in the US through email, skype messaging or call.
Uses technical expertise to develop or debug automated scripts and coordinates execution of automated scripts with global team members.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
Attention to details.
Fluency in Spanish and English (speaking and writing)
Understanding of graphic CAD solutions (AutoCAD, Pro/E, Revit, 3Ds max) and API communication with such CAD tools.
Ability to work to a “level of detail” to understand exactly what isn’t working and what the impact is to the intended end-user.
Able to effectively work collaboratively with peers and business teammates on projects and assignments
Strong customer orientation (for both internal and external customers)
Strong leadership skills.
Continuous improvement.
Comfort working the most part of the time with a “level of detail activities” and in a computer.
Excellent people skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills
Requirements:
Advanced English is required.
2-3 years of experience in a similar position or a similar area.
Desirable college degree in information technologies, electronic engineer or related with IT.
