FLSMIDTH IS LOOKING FOR A PURCHASING SPECIALIST IN IT'S PURCHASING TEAM IN MONTERREY, MEXICO. (must be located in Monterrey Mexico for consideration).
Job scope: The Team Lead - Purchase is responsible to Lead a team of Buyers and provide Purchasing support for the business conducted in its Monterrey, Mexico office, and is part of the North America (Canada, Mexico, and United States of America) regional purchasing team.
It is expected that this position would Lead a team of buyers who support the regional purchasing activities while having close cross-functional collaboration among the business and procurement teams. Your responsibilities: Manage the day to day purchasing activities within the department. Develop and Lead subordinates to conform to established policies and procedures and to enhance these processes for efficiency and effectiveness.Take the lead on the negotiation and purchase of critical, high profile components and projects.Supervising small teams.Facilitate an efficient workflow and information flow within the department, and with other departments.Participate in employee performance reviews and recommend salary increases. Participate in the hiring, firing, promotion and disciplinary action of direct reports within the guidelines of company policy.Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date vendor records and ratings is a key element of this responsibility.Monitor departmental KPI's among the team.Ongoing development of quality and cost effective sources for assigned service, components and parts.Lead Buyers to effectively achieve purchasing strategies, commodity plans and overall purchasing policies.Maintain and develop strong vendor relationships.Develop bidder's list based on compatibility of the specifications to the known qualifications of the supplier.Prepare accurate, representative inquiry documents to solicit quotations within established time constraints based on overall project/proposal schedule.Obtain timely technical evaluations from involved technical groups and review scope of work with contending vendors.Negotiate orders including prices, delivery, warranty, milestone schedules, cancellation provisions, payments, etc.Monitor progress of the orders. Resolve conflicts including negotiating contract conditions, schedules, payments, etc.Keep abreast of price, delivery trends, new technology, currency fluctuations, duties, laws, etc.Support development of and execute purchasing procedures within established guidelines.Train and develop personnel under his/her supervision, identify future resource requirements.What you bring: Previous supervisory experience preferred.Buying and expediting experience required.Constant communication with Mexico, China and Europe.Experience supervising small teams.5 years of experience in international buying in mining industry.Minimum 3 years of experience with international suppliers (Required).3 years of experience in Oracle.Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering preferred.
