Please note that this position is temporary and is expected to last for 1 year. However, there may be opportunities for extension based on business needs and performance. We are looking for a Procurement Project Specialist who wants to develop a strong and solid career on procurement and project management. Project specialist has the opportunity to develop with us his/her career and become a project manager, as well as to be certify as a Project Manager Professional (PMP).
As a Procurement Project Specialist you will be leading through project management practices and tools, the evolution of challenging cost reduction ideas, including (but not limited) to QVE (quality value engineering) and COS (change of supplier) projects within North American Strategic Projects Team.
Responsibilities:
-Establish for each idea he/she is leading: project benefits, project expenses, total cost of ownership, ensuring technical project feasibility, and consolidating all this information into a formal business case.
-Innovate and bring cost reduction ideas to the pipeline by participating, preparing and sometimes leading Productivity Workshop Events within North America's Schneider Electric manufacturing facilities.
-Works on several products and several commodities as the scope they manage is all North America's business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead the evolution of Quality Value Engineering and Change of Supplier ideas.Ensure accurate estimation of benefits (savings), costs (project expenses) and technical feasibility.Work together with commodity team to make a correct supplier selection, in alignment with their strategies.Lead quoting process with a wide range of suppliers on different commodities for example Plastics, Casting, Sheet Metal, Fasteners, Packaging, Raw Material etc…Analyze and negotiate part price after receiving quotations.Establish and ensure technical feasibility of projectPrepare Project Charter and Project Request documentPresent business case for approval and resourcingMeet idea timing and budget targets.Prepare and participate on productivity workshop event within North America's facilities.

This job might be for you if you fit the following requirements: Must +4 years of procurement / sourcing experience in a project management environment.+2 years working on cost reduction initiatives.Bachelor degree in Engineering, MBA is a plus.Bilingual in English/Spanish – business proficient (written and oral)Excellent Communicator at all level Strong experience in procurement processes and tools (Total cost ownership, Cost Models, Raw Material Indexation etc), Supplier qualification / selection, request for quotations, negotiation, contract management.Experience on Risk Management methodologyExperience on presenting to top management levels (Directors, and Vice Presidents).Interpretation of engineering specs, drawings, BOM (Bill of Material), cost modeling & inventory volumes.Project Management Skills.Leadership skills, proactive, dynamic, self-driven, organized & process driven but pragmatic.Knowledge on MS Office and MS ProjectRegional travel in North America can be frequent (15-20%)Training on PMP methodology and / or certified.Experience on leading a project start to end.Experience working on electrical or electronic manufacturing industry.Experience working, implementing and / or leading Agile (Scrum Master methodology).Experience animating and preparing kaizen event.SAP knowledge.Excel Advance Level (Managing big databases, capable to create Macros).Experience using and/or implementing Change Management methodology.Experience working directly on the operation of a manufacturing industry.#J-18808-Ljbffr
